Tepper School of Business Website Ranked as Top Business School Website by BusinessWeek

Pittsburgh, PA – BusinessWeek magazine, one of the most recognized business publications in the world, has chosen the Tepper School of Business website as the top site among their list of Top 20 Business Schools. BusinessWeek has been well known for its annual rankings of United States business schools since it began publishing them in 1988.
BusinessWeek asked users of their MBA forums, their own staff and prospective MBA applicants to weigh in on what matters most when they are surfing school sites. From that feedback, they were able to identify five items, and timed how long it took to find them on all on each site tested. Those items included: application materials, application deadlines, the admission director’s name and contact information, financial aid information and a description of the curriculum. It only took two minutes and four seconds to find all the information on the Tepper site, compared with nearly five minutes or more for the other sites.
Designed by BarkleyREI in 2006, the Tepper site has consistently garnered praise for its relevant content and ease of use. Deb Magness, Tepper's executive director of marketing, explained that the school improved its site, which was formerly text-heavy and poorly laid out, through a focus on the user. "Some schools design their web sites according to their organizational chart, and you never want to do that," she said. "We have it very streamlined. What would have taken five clicks now takes one."
